Local processing

DirDeck processes filenames, paths, file details and previews on your Mac, along with operations you request such as rename, move, copy, image and PDF tools.

The DirDeck app does not upload file data and includes no accounts, advertising, analytics or cloud synchronization.

Folder access permissions

macOS file and folder permissions, access controls and protected system locations always apply. DirDeck cannot and does not bypass them.

The App Store edition accesses only folders you choose in the macOS file picker and allow it to open. That choice stays on your Mac; once you remove access, DirDeck stops accessing the folder. Favorites are shortcuts to files, not permission grants.

Trial and purchase

The seven-day full-feature trial, auto-renewing annual subscription and Lifetime Access are handled by Apple’s in-app purchase system (StoreKit). The seven-day trial itself does not renew or charge automatically; annual billing begins only if you choose to subscribe. DirDeck reads only Apple-confirmed purchase results to check whether you have access.

DirDeck never receives complete payment-card details and does not send transaction data to any DirDeck server.

Location saved in photos

Only when you choose “View Location” does DirDeck read the location saved in a photo (EXIF/GPS) on your Mac, then show or copy the coordinates as requested.

“Remove Location Metadata” creates a new copy without the location and leaves the original unchanged. “Open in Maps” passes the coordinates to Apple Maps; DirDeck does not look up an address or access your location in the background.

This website

dirdeck.com does not ask you to sign in or fill out forms. It includes no third-party analytics or advertising and sets no cookies that track you.

The website provider may keep basic access records such as IP address, visit time and page for security and maintenance. These website records do not mean the DirDeck app collects your file data.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in an important way, we will update this page and its “Last updated” date. If DirDeck later adds an online feature or lets you export a diagnostics file, we will review its privacy impact first and explain it clearly in the app.
